The Voyage

In October 2005, Avalon CEO Jim Wolf and fellow explorers set out on a 300 mile Trip down the Mississippi River from the home of Mark Twain in Hannibal, MO and followed the path depicted in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that traversed through St Louis to Cape Girardeau, Missouri and ended in Cairo, Illinois.  The crew made the winding journey on an Avalon Ambassador.

Below St. Louis the Mississippi turns into a working river — tow barges, wing dams, and lock-and-dam systems share the channel with anyone making the run south.
